Berrettini holds off Monfils in first round in Dubai

Italian Matteo Berrettini won against Frenchman Gael Monfils 7-5, 6-4 to move into the second round of the Dubai Open at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Tuesday evening.

Berrettini, ranked No 30, will face Australian qualifier Christopher O’Connell next.
