Wildcard Hamad Medjedovic edged out wildcard Laslo Djere 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (2) to advance to the final of the Belgrade Open at the Belgrade Arena.

Medjedovic, ranked No 156, will face Canadian qualifier Denis Shapovalov next.

Earlier in the tournament, Hamad Medjedovic beat American Brandon Nakashima, the No 6 seed (3-6, 7-5, 6-3), American Aleksandar Kovacevic (7-6 (5), 6-4) and Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 3 seed (6-4, 6-2).

Djere, ranked No 141, won against Swiss wildcard Stan Wawrinka (6-4, 6-4), Croat lucky loser Duje Ajdukovic (6-1, 7-6 (8)) and Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (6-4, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Belgrade tournament.
