Belgrade Open: Altmaier upsets 8th seed Darderi in first round
The German will face the winner of the match between Serb Miomir Kecmanovic and Australian Christopher O’Connell in the second round

Germany’s Daniel Altmaier moved into the second round of the Belgrade Open by beating Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 8 seed, 7-6 (1), 6-3 at the Belgrade Arena on Monday.
This was the German’s second win over Draderi in three career meetings on the professional circuit. It also improves his record on the ATP Tour this year to 12 wins against 21 losses.
Altmaier, ranked No 93, will play the winner of the match between Serb Miomir Kecmanovic and Australian Christopher O’Connell next.
