Barcelona Open: Ruud maintains hot streak with 26th win of 2024

Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 3 seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open by winning against Australian Jordan Thompson, the No 14 seed, 6-1, 6-4 at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on Thursday.
Ruud, ranked No 6, will face Italian Matteo Arnaldi next.
The Norwegian defeated Frenchman Alexandre Muller (6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the Barcelona tournament.
In the second round of the Barcelona tournament, Thompson, ranked No 33, edged out Spaniard Jaume Munar (6-4, 2-6, 6-4).
