Barcelona Open: Lajovic stuns Arthur Fils to reach semi-finals

Serb Dusan Lajovic defeated Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 16 seed, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of the Barcelona Open at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona.

Lajovic, ranked No 59, will play Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 5 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the 33-year-old Serb won against Argentinian qualifier Diego Schwartzman (6-1, 6-2), Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-4) and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 11 seed (7-6 (10), 3-6, 6-1).

Fils, ranked No 36, won against German Daniel Altmaier (6-4, 1-6, 6-1) and Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 4 seed (7-5, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Barcelona tournament.
