Spanish wildcard Roberto Bautista Agut won against Russian Roman Safiullin 6-3, 7-6 (8) to advance to the second round of the Barcelona Open at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on Monday.
It was a good birthday gift for the Spaniard, who turned 36 years old on Sunday.
Bautista Agut, ranked No 84, will play No 7 seed Karen Khachanov next.
