Baez continues hot form to make Chile Open quarter-finals
Sebastian Baez beat Juan Pablo Varillas 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday evening and will play No 8 seed Jaume Munar in the next round
Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the second seed, won against Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the Chile Open at Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago de Chile on Thursday evening.
Baez, ranked No 21, will face No 8 seed Jaume Munar next.
In the previous round of the Santiago tournament, Varillas, ranked No 119, defeated Argentinian lucky loser Francisco Comesana (6-2, 3-6, 6-1).
