Auckland Open: Michelsen through to second round

American Alex Michelsen, the No 8 seed, reached the second round of the Auckland Open by winning against Indian qualifier Sumit Nagal 6-7 (8), 6-4, 6-2 at the ASB Tennis Arena on Monday.
Michelsen, ranked No 41, will play the winner of the match between Canadian wildcard Gabriel Diallo and Italian Lorenzo Sonego next.
