ATP Finals: Sinner, Alcaraz drawn in separate groups
Sinner will face Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur in the Ilie Nastase group
World No 1 Jannik Sinner and world No 3 Carlos Alcaraz, the two players who have split the four Grand Slams this year, have been placed in different groups for the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, which begins on November 10.
Sinner will face world No 4 Daniil Medvedev, world No 6 Taylor Fritz and world No 8 Alex de Minaur in the Ilie Nastase group while Alcaraz is placed alongside world No 2 Alexander Zverev, world No 7 Casper Ruud and world No 9 Andrey Rublev in the John Newcombe group.
Ilie Nastase Group:
- Jannik Sinner
- Daniil Medvedev
- Taylor Fritz
- Alex de Minaur
John Newcombe Group:
- Alexander Zverev
- Carlos Alcaraz
- Casper Ruud
- Andrey Rublev
The top two players from each group at the end of round robin play will qualify for the semi-finals. That means there is a chance that Sinner and Alcaraz could clash in the semi-finals.
