When does the ATP Cup 2022 take place?
The first major event of the new season, the 2022 ATP Cup will start on 1 January and end on 9 January.
Who is in which group?
Sixteen teams are represented this year, including a wild card awarded to Australia.
Group A: Serbia, Norway, Chile, Spain

Is Novak Djokovic playing the ATP Cup?
Novak Djokovic, who was among the players selected by Serbia to compete in the ATP Cup 2022 in Sydney (1-9 January), has pulled out of the ATP Cup. The world No 1 has not yet said whether he will be playing at the Australian Open because of Melbourne’s strict vaccination requirements.
Do players need to be vaccinated to play?
Unlike the Australian Open, the ATP Cup, which takes place in a different state from Melbourne, has not imposed a vaccination requirement. Nevertheless, any traveller entering this territory must either prove a complete vaccination scheme or spend 14 days in quarantine.
Where is the ATP Cup taking place?
The 2022 ATP Cup is being held in Sydney, Australia on two different courts: the Ken Rosewall Arena and the Sydney Super Dome.

How do teams qualify for the ATP Cup?
Countries qualify for the ATP Cup courtesy of their top-ranked singles player choosing to enter. France would have been entitled to enter for the 2022 edition because Gael Monfils is ranked 21st in the world – but he opted not to take part.
What are the ATP Cup rules?
Teams compete in two singles matches and one doubles match. The matches between the second-ranked singles players of each team will be the opening match, followed by the matches between the two top-ranked players. The doubles match will close the competition and will be played regardless of the outcome of the two singles matches.
The winner of each group will be joined by the two best runners-up in the quarter-finals of the tournament with three knockout rounds (same format as the pools) until one team is crowned champion.

$10 million in prize money is on offer – along with 750 ATP ranking points in singles and 250 in doubles.
