ATP Auckland: Daniel eases into quarter-finals
Taro Daniel beat Max Purcell 6-2, 6-4 on Wednesday night and will play French qualifier Alexandre Muller in the next round

Japanese Taro Daniel won against Australian Max Purcell, the No 8 seed, 6-2, 6-4 to move into the quarter-finals of the Auckland Open at the ASB Tennis Arena on Wednesday night.
Daniel, ranked No 74, will play French qualifier Alexandre Muller next.
Ahead of his victory, the Japanese beat Australian Aleksandar Vukic (7-5, 7-5).
Purcell, ranked No 45, won against New Zealander wildcard Kiranpal Pannu (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Auckland tournament.
