ATP Auckland: Daniel beats local hope Vukic to reach second round
Daniel will meet the winner of the match between New Zealander wildcard Kiranpal Pannu and Australian Max Purcell, the No 8 seed, in the next round

Japanese Taro Daniel reached the second round of the Auckland Open by defeating Australian Aleksandar Vukic 7-5, 7-5 at the ASB Tennis Arena on Monday.
Daniel, ranked No 75, will play the winner of the match between New Zealander wildcard Kiranpal Pannu and Australian Max Purcell, the No 8 seed, next.
