ATP Adelaide: Korda breezes into semi-finals

American Sebastian Korda, the No 3 seed, defeated Australian wildcard Christopher O’Connell 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the semi-finals of the Adelaide Open at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Thursday night.
Korda, ranked No 29, will face the winner of the match between No 7 seed Jiri Lehecka and Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the second seed, next.
The American won against Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-4, 7-6 (10)) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Adelaide tournament, O’Connell, ranked No 71, won against French qualifier Arthur Rinderknech (6-4, 6-4) and Russian Alexander Shevchenko (6-3, 6-1).
