Australian wildcard Christopher O’Connell moved into the second round of the Adelaide Open by defeating French qualifier Arthur Rinderknech 6-4, 6-4 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
O’Connell, ranked No 71, will play Russian Alexander Shevchenko next.
