Australian Aleksandar Vukic moved into the quarter-finals of the Atlanta Open by edging out Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, the No 4 seed, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (3) on Wednesday evening.
Vukic, ranked No 82, will face the winner of the match between No 5 seed Christopher Eubanks and Brandon Nakashima next. Ahead of his victory, the Australian beat American wildcard Ethan Quinn (7-6 (5), 6-3).
