Atlanta Open: Qualifier Shang upsets Shelton to reach last 16
The 18-year-old will face Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the next round

Chinese qualifier Juncheng Shang advanced to the last 16 of the Atlanta Open by winning against American Ben Shelton, the No 6 seed, 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Shang, ranked No 156 in the world, will play Japanese Kei Nishikori next. The 18-year-old from China is a former world No 1 junior player and is now climbing up the ranks on the pro tour.
The Japanese player won his first ATP level match in two years on Tuesday with a straight sets win over Jordan Thompson.
