Reilly Opelka beat Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-3, 7-6 (5) to reach the second round of the Atlanta Open at the Atlanta Athletic Club on Wednesday evening.
Opelka, ranked No 430, will face Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 5 seed, next.
