Mackenzie McDonald won against Denis Kudla 6-2, 7-6 (8) to move into the second round of the Atlanta Open at the Atlantic Stadion on Tuesday evening.
McDonald, ranked No 51, will face American Jenson Brooksby, the No 6 seed, next.
