Alert – Atlanta Open: Fritz lifts the trophy

American Taylor Fritz, the top seed, lifted the Atlanta Open trophy by edging out Australian Aleksandar Vukic 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-4 on Sunday evening.
Earlier in the tournament, Fritz, ranked No 9, beat Chinese Yibing Wu (6-4, 7-6 (5)), Japanese Kei Nishikori (6-4, 6-2) and No 8 seed J.J. Wolf (6-3, 7-5).
Vukic, ranked No 82, defeated American wildcard Ethan Quinn (7-6 (5), 6-3), Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, the No 4 seed (4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (3)), American Christopher Eubanks, the No 5 seed (6-4, 6-4) and Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 7 seed (3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5) in the previous rounds.
