American Jenson Brooksby, the No 6 seed, defeated Frenchman Benoit Paire 6-3, 6-1 to move into the second round of the Atlanta Open at the Atlantic Stadion on Tuesday evening.
Brooksby, ranked No 43, will face the winner of the match between Denis Kudla and Mackenzie McDonald next.
