American wildcard Andres Martin, aged 21, won against Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the second round of the Atlanta Open at the Atlantic Stadion on Tuesday night.
Georgia Tech’s number 1 player is only ranked No736 at the ATP. It is his third professional tournament (the first on the ATP Tour).

Andres Martin will play Adrian Mannarino next. The Frenchman replaced Nick Kyrgios in the draw.
