Third seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, of Greece, advanced to the second round of the Astana Open with a straight-sets win over Kazakh wildcard Mikhail Kukushkin on Tuesday.
Tsitsipas, ranked No 6 in the world currently, needed an hour and 24 minutes to beat Kukushkin 6-3, 6-4 at the Daulet National Tennis Center in Nur-Sultan.
Tuesday’s win was the 50th victory of the season in 2022, which is the third time that the Greek has reached that milestone (after 2019 and 2021).
