Astana Open: Mannarino books spot in final
Adrian Mannarino won against Sebastian Ofner 6-4, 6-2 on Monday and will face American Sebastian Korda, the No 5 seed, for the title
Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 6 seed, moved into the final of the Astana Open by defeating Austrian Sebastian Ofner 6-4, 6-2 at the Daulet National Tennis Center on Monday.
Mannarino, ranked No 34, will play American Sebastian Korda, the No 5 seed, next.
The 35-year-old Frenchman won against Arthur Rinderknech (7-6 (4), 6-2), Russian qualifier Alibek Kachmazov (6-2, 5-7, 6-3) and Austrian qualifier Jurij Rodionov (6-1, 7-6 (6)) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Nur-Sultan tournament, Ofner, ranked No 58, won against Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (2-6, 6-2, 6-3), Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 3 seed (6-4, 6-2) and Dominic Thiem (5-7, 6-4, 6-2).
