Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 7 seed, moved into the last eight of the Astana Open by defeating Kazakh Alexander Bublik 6-4, 6-4 at the Daulet National Tennis Center in Nur-Sultan on Thursday.
Hurkacz, ranked No 10, will face Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 3 seed, next.
The Pole won against Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo (6-2, 7-6 (2)) ahead of his victory.
Bublik, ranked No 43, beat Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (6-0, 4-6, 6-3) in front of his home crowd.
