Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 7 seed, reached the second round of the Astana Open by winning against Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo 6-2, 7-6 (2) at the Daulet National Tennis Center in Nur-Sultan on Monday.
Hurkacz, ranked No 10, will play the winner of the match between Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor and Kazakh Alexander Bublik next.
