Arnaldi sees off Van Assche in Indian Wells, moves into second round

Italian Matteo Arnaldi advanced to the second round of the Indian Wells Masters by winning against Frenchman Luca Van Assche 7-6 (6), 7-6 (3) at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Wednesday night.

Arnaldi, ranked No 40, will play second seed Carlos Alcaraz next.
