Argentina Open: Varillas reaches second round
Juan Pablo Varillas won against João Sousa 6-2, 7-5 on Tuesday night and will play the winner of the match between Slovak Alex Molcan, the No 7 seed, and Austrian wildcard Dominic Thiem in the next round
Peruvian qualifier Juan Pablo Varillas advanced to the second round of the Argentina Open by winning against Portuguese João Sousa 6-2, 7-5 at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Tuesday night.
Varillas, ranked No 101, will play the winner of the match between Slovak Alex Molcan, the No 7 seed, and Austrian wildcard Dominic Thiem next.
