Cameron Norrie moves into semis at Buenos Aires

Second seed Cameron Norrie moved into the semi-finals of the Argentina Open by winning against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 5-7, 6-0, 6-3 at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Friday evening.
Norrie, ranked No 12, will play the winner of the match between Peruvian qualifier Juan Pablo Varillas and Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 3 seed, next.
The British No 1 is into his fifth career semi-final on clay. He has reached three finals and won his lone clay-court title at Lyon in 2022.
Norrie improves to 12-2 on the season.
The 27-year-old braved chilly, rainy conditions and rallied to take 12 of the final 15 games after dropping the opening set to Etcheverry. He broke five times across seven opportunities in sets two and three to crack the match open.
In the previous round of the Buenos Aires Open, Cameron Norrie edged out Argentinian wildcard Facundo Diaz Acosta (4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (6)).
Etcheverry, ranked No 82, beat Hugo Dellien (3-6, 6-2, 6-2) and Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (4-6, 6-1, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Buenos Aires Open.
