Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 6 seed, advanced to the second round of the Argentina Open by beating Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena 6-4, 6-1 at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Tuesday night.
Etcheverry, ranked No 27, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian wildcard Diego Schwartzman and Colombian qualifier Daniel Elahi Galan next.
