Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry won against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 to advance to the last 8 of the Argentina Open at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Wednesday evening.
Etcheverry, ranked No 82, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian wildcard Facundo Diaz Acosta and second seed Cameron Norrie next.
In the previous round of the Buenos Aires Open, the Argentinian beat Hugo Dellien (3-6, 6-2, 6-2).
Carballes Baena, ranked No 76, won against No 8 seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas (7-5, 6-4) in the previous round of the Buenos Aires Open.
