“Whatever happens tomorrow, we all win” – Francisco Cerundolo to clash against brother Juan Manuel next

The older Cerundolo brother won against Luciano Darderi 6-4, 6-4 in the first round on Tuesday

Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 5 seed, reached the second round of the Argentina Open by winning against Italian Luciano Darderi 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday.

Cerundolo, ranked No 28, will face his brother Juan Manuel Cerundolo next at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.

The two have faced off once on the pro tour before with Francisco, aged 26, winning over Jua Manuel, aged 23, in 2021.

Francisco posted a picture of the two of them as kids and said it’s a win-win for their family. “I don’t know how many families can say that two brothers are playing in the round of 16 at their home ATP. Whatever happens tomorrow, we all win! It’s a pride to play night shift at Lawn Tennis @jmcerundolo Enjoy it”.
