Andy Murray to play in Bordeaux, will play doubles at French Open with Dan Evans
The former world No 1 had already committed to playing in Geneva and at Roland-Garros
Andy Murray has brought forward his return from injury by entering a Challenger Tour event in Bordeaux, which begins on May 13.
The Scot had already committed to playing in the Gonet Geneva Open, which begins the following week, and at the French Open, which starts on May 26.
And the 36-year-old will be playing both singles and doubles in Paris, partnering fellow Briton Dan Evans in the doubles event.
Murray’s participation on the clay had been in doubt after he injured tendons in his left ankle at the Miami Masters. But the former world No 1’s recovery went well and he will now play three clay-court events, before beginning his grass-court season in Stuttgart.
Murray had a metal hip inserted in 2019 and though he has defied doctors by returning to the Tour, he has struggled to make an impact at the Grand Slam events and has said that he is unlikely to play on much past this summer.
