Almaty Open: Tiafoe battles past Evans to make quarters
Frances Tiafoe won against Daniel Evans 6-7 (10), 7-6 (4), 6-3 on Thursday and will play Australian Aleksandar Vukic in the next round

American Frances Tiafoe, the top seed, reached the last eight of the Almaty Open by defeating qualifier Daniel Evans 6-7 (10), 7-6 (4), 6-3 at Almaty Arena on Thursday afternoon.
Tiafoe, ranked No 15, will face Australian Aleksandar Vukic next.
In the previous round of the Almaty tournament, Evans, ranked No 180, won against Japanese Taro Daniel (6-2, 7-6 (4)).
