Ugo Humbert lifted the trophy on Saturday evening against Alexander Bublik
Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 5 seed, beat Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 6-3 to lift the Dubai Open trophy at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Saturday evening.
Ahead of his victory, Humbert, ranked No 18, defeated wildcard Gael Monfils (4-6, 6-3, 6-3), Andy Murray (6-2, 6-4), Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 3 seed (3-6, 7-6 (8), 6-3) and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the top seed (7-5, 6-3).
Bublik, ranked No 23, beat qualifier Tomas Machac (2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5)), Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (7-6 (8), 7-6 (2)), Jiri Lehecka (6-4, 4-1 ret.) and Russian Andrey Rublev, the second seed (6-7 (4), 7-6 (5), 6-5) earlier in the tournament.
