Alert – Alcaraz wins Indian Wells
Carlos Alcaraz won the final on Sunday night against Daniil Medvedev
Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed, lifted the Indian Wells Masters trophy by beating Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 4 seed, 7-6 (5), 6-1 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Sunday night.
Ahead of his victory, Alcaraz, ranked No 2, defeated Italian Matteo Arnaldi (6-7 (5), 6-0, 6-1), Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 31 seed (6-2, 6-3), Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (6-3, 6-3), German Alexander Zverev, the No 6 seed (6-3, 6-1) and Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 3 seed (1-6, 6-3, 6-2).
Medvedev, ranked No 4, beat Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (6-2, 6-3), American Sebastian Korda, the No 29 seed (6-4, 5-7, 6-3), Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 13 seed (6-4, 6-4), Dane Holger Rune, the No 7 seed (7-5, 6-4) and American Tommy Paul, the No 17 seed (1-6, 7-6 (3), 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters.
