Alcaraz, Thiem, Dimitrov, Ruud nominated for ATP Sportsmanship award
Alcaraz and Ruud are both former winners of the Stefan Edberg Sportsman Award
Carlos Alcaraz and Dominic Thiem, who retired in Vienna earlier this year, are among the players nominated for the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award this year as the ATP Tour revealed the nominees for its annual awards. The two players will battle it out against Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov and Norway’s Casper Ruud for the honour. Alcaraz won award in 2023 while Ruud won the same in 2022.
Great Britain’s Jack Draper and big-serving Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard are among the the nominees for Most Improved Player of the Year while 19-year-olds Jakub Mensik and Juncheng Shang are the two nominees for Newcomer of the Year.
Matteo Berrettini, Marin Cilic and Kei Nishikori, all former Grand Slam winners or runners-up, are nominated in the Comeback Player of the Year category.
