Alcaraz stays in touch with Djokovic at top; Nardi breaks top 100 – ATP rankings update
The Spaniard is just under 1,000 points behind Djokovic at the top after his Indian Wells win
Novak Djokovic remains top of the latest ATP rankings despite his early defeat in Indian Wells but Carlos Alcaraz did exactly what he had to in order to stay close behind in second, winning the title for the second successive year.
Djokovic, who didn’t play Indian Wells or Miami last year, is top with 9,725 points (up 50) while Alcaraz stayed ahead of Jannik Sinner, to be No 2 on 8,805, with the Italian just under 500 points behind.
Behind the top three, Daniil Medvedev remains fourth and there’s 2,500 points between him and Alexander Zverev, who leapfrogs Andrey Rublev into fifth. Casper Ruud is the only other climber inside the top 10, switching places with Hubert Hurkacz, moving up to eighth.

Nardi breaks top 100 after Djokovic win
Tommy Paul is up to 14th, two off his career-high, after reaching the semis in Indian Wells, while Jiri Lehecka moves back into the top 30 in 27th place.
And Luca Nardi, who sensationally beat Djokovic in Indian Wells, is into the world’s top 100 for the first time, climbing 27 places to No 97.
