World No 3 Carlos Alcaraz has confirmed that he will play the Qatar Open in Doha in February, a change in his schedule from recent years.
The Spaniard will not play the clay court swing in South America in 2025 and has instead chosen to play on Doha, which gets elevated from an ATP 250 to an ATP 500 event next year.
Alcaraz joins a stacked field in Doha, which already includes world No 1 Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Alex de Minaur and Grigor Dimitrov.
The Spaniard will begin his season direct at the Australian Open, the only Slam missing from his resume as he attempts to become the youngest man to complete the career Grand Slam in tennis history.
