Wildcard Li Tu advanced to the second round of the Adelaide Open by beating qualifier James Duckworth 6-1, 7-5 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
Tu, ranked No 179, will face qualifier Benjamin Bonzi next.
