Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 8 seed, advanced to the second round of the Adelaide Open by winning against Australian wildcard Tristan Schoolkate 7-6 (8), 6-3 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
Etcheverry, ranked No 39, will face Australian wildcard Thanasi Kokkinakis next.
