Italian Matteo Arnaldi won against Spanish lucky loser Bernabe Zapata Miralles 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Adelaide Open at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
Arnaldi, ranked No 41, will face second seed Nicolas Jarry next.
