Canadian Denis Shapovalov won against Chinese Zhang Zhizhen, the No 9 seed, 6-3, 6-4 to move into the second round of the Adelaide Open at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Monday.
Shapovalov, ranked No 58, will face the winner of the match between Australian Aleksandar Vukic and American Marcos Giron next.
