No 6 seed Facundo Diaz Acosta edged out Pedro Cachin 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (2) to move into the second round of the Chile Open at Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago de Chile on Monday night.
Acosta, ranked No 52, will play Spaniard Pedro Martinez next.
