Mexican Open: Tiafoe beats in-form Muller to reach second round

American Frances Tiafoe, the No 7 seed, advanced to the second round of the Mexican Open by winning against Frenchman Alexandre Muller 6-4, 6-2 at the Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco.

Tiafoe, ranked No 18, will play Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina next.
