Mexican Open: Paul books spot in second round

American Tommy Paul, the No 3 seed, advanced to the second round of the Mexican Open by winning against Canadian qualifier Gabriel Diallo 6-2, 6-2 at the Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco on Tuesday.

Paul, ranked No 10, will play American Marcos Giron next.
