Nordea Open: Kotov beats Garin in first round

Russian Pavel Kotov, the No 8 seed, moved into the second round of the Nordea Open by beating Chilean Cristian Garin 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-1 at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad on Monday.

Kotov, ranked No 60, will play the winner of the match between Croat qualifier Duje Ajdukovic and Frenchman Luca Van Assche next.
