Japanese qualifier Misaki Doi beat Croat Petra Martic 7-5, 6-2 to reach the last 16 of the Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament on Tuesday.
Doi, ranked No 331, will face No 4 seed Maria Sakkari next.
