Thailand Open: Fruhvirtova makes second round, defeats Mattek-Sands in straight sets

Czech Linda Fruhvirtova, the No 8 seed, advanced to the second round of the Thailand Open by beating American wildcard Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-3, 6-1 at the True Arena Hua Hin on Tuesday.
Fruhvirtova, ranked No 51, will face Slovenian Tamara Zidansek next.
