Qatar Open: Andreeva battles into second round
Mirra Andreeva edged out Katie Volynets 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 on Sunday afternoon. She’ll face the winner of the match between Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina and Slovak Rebecca Sramkova in the next round
Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 12 seed, reached the second round of the Qatar Open by edging out American qualifier Katie Volynets 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Sunday.
Andreeva, ranked No 15, will face the winner of the match between Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina and Slovak Rebecca Sramkova next.
