Belgian Maryna Zanevska moved into the second round of the Parma Open by winning against Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 8 seed, 6-3, 6-2 at the Tennis Club Parma on Tuesday night.
Zanevska, ranked No 97, will play Hungarian Dalma Galfi next.
